Keeping up with the expression “it is exactly what it is”? Precisely what does that expression mean exactly?
Before I understood the deeper concept of this expression, I envisioned an emaciated yogi guru in the lotus position floating over the ground imperiously imparting wisdom that will take scholars multiple lifetimes to interpret. Since that is my last life on earth and also the lotus position would put me in traction, I knew that consulting the program In Miracles would help me clarify its meaning.
Is there a IT that we are talking about here? According to the Course in Miracles, It really is truth, specifically God’s truth. How come it’s imperative that you emphasize that it is God’s truth? Because God’s the fact is not ready to accept interpretations whereas a human’s truth is. Multiple versions of human truth have result in a myriad of religions. The Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia defines religion as a “system of thought, feeling, and action that is shared with a group and that provides members a thing of devotion.”
Who devised the device of thought? On whose feelings are these thoughts based? Are actions really necessary? In line with the Course In Miracles, God just is and our ultimate goal would be to return to an ideal condition of being. There is absolutely no thought or action inside the state of being, you just are. What must not be forgotten will be the underlying thread of all religions: God is creator, God is love and we’re all perfect and infinite kids of God.
Put yet another way, “it ‘s what it is” can be rewritten to “God’s love could be the only truth in fact it is absolute” and also this truth knows no bounds which is timeless.
