I recall, some time ago, reading an article with a prominent blogger and SEO expert about “mobile blogging”. He’d a “blogging box” which allowed him to blog wherever he was (i thought would have been a bit stupid and pretentious). It included an electronic camera, a laptop with a 3G modem, a notepad and pen, along with other bits and pieces. The complete lot almost fit into a suitcase.
Thankfully, things have shifted a bit, and that we now have WordPress apps for iPhone/iPad and Android. Both apps are now compatible with additional or fewer recent versions of WordPress. That said, ensure you check which version of WordPress you need to be running in order to access your dashboard via mobile.
Blogging vs Microblogging
Obviously, your primary limitation when utilizing a phone for blogging is always that everything is a small bit a greater portion of a problem. You simply can’t type as fast, upload as numerous pictures, format also, or perform a few advanced things. You can do almost everything you need, but it is a little more cumbersome.
With that being said, the way in which forward is clearly microblogging. By microblogging I do not mean a twitter-esque update. I recently mean a bare-bones post, having a picture and several commentary that you just looked at as you were away from your laptop plus a wi-fi connection.
What this allows you to do, amongst other pursuits, is live-blog events and stuff that happen. In the event you spot something exciting, you are able to have a photo or a video from it and place it on the blog before you even get back. If you are in the commercial of breaking news, this is invaluable.
