How weddings have changed within the decades! From your handful to 400-500 invited guests; one-two to six-eight wedding party members; a simple wedding car to expensive and large wedding cars; three course meals to course meals; 1 to 3 live bands; simple attire to colorful and flamboyant dresses, suits and attire and off-the-cuff to well-prepared wedding speeches.
While we’re talking about aforementioned, wedding speeches are still a fundamental part of a married relationship and guests do look ahead to hearing them, discussing them before, during and indeed after they’ve been delivered.
We have all heard of wedding speeches delivered prior to meal, during the meal and after your food, however it is of a strong opinion that this wedding speeches should be delivered as soon as the meal. I am aware that for a lot of wedding ceremony speakers i.e. Father from the Bride Speech, Father with the Groom Speech, Bride Speech, Groom Speech and Bestman Speech (5 main speakers), they might prefer to have the wedding speeches ahead of the meal, for them to enjoy their meal (a lot of them are spending money for it!). However, it is all about the invited guests and just how a lot of them (and indeed wedding ceremony venue staff) would rather the marriage speeches to be delivered following the meal for a lot of reasons, a few of which include:
The invited guests are already fed and watered and are not hearing wedding speeches before eating any breakfast (at least of food, which would be ahead of the meal, though weddings today do provide light snacks upon arrival at the wedding venue)
Food might be cooked and served on the agreed time (introduce the marriage speeches prior to the meal and their could be a delay of Quarter-hour to at least one.5 hours, driving the kitchen staff crazy attempting to keep food freshly cooked, presentable and edible)
The wedding speeches behave as the transition through the meal to the dancing (broke happening after the meal, folks are expecting ‘a few words’ to be shared concerning the Bride & Groom and they know they are able to wake up, maneuver around, take a break, take a stroll, go to the bar…)
It’s a challenge for moms and dads with the Bride & Groom to talk in public areas, as the majority of them wouldn’t be used than it. So, they could, should they so wished, speak prior to the / their meal.
There should still be some sort of formal wedding speech(es) following your meal…
